TimPowersDesign was set up by Tim Powers in 2015, and is based in Cambridgeshire.
During this time we have worked on numerous in-house projects, but have also worked with external agencies to help support their clients.
Our bread and butter is web design and development, the majority of our clients run websites built and designed by TimPowersDesign. We specialise in custom templates and plugins for WordPress which are not available on any repositories, as they are customised for each individual client.
All of our clients use our unlimited hosting services, which includes 7-day a week support and updates as standard. We also offer email only, and hosting only packages which include 7-day a week support as standard.
About Tim Powers
Tim has been interested in design since he got his first computer aged 7. Back then he was a Microsoft Paint, and Jasc Paint Shop Pro connoisseur, before moving to Adobe Photoshop Elements years later – creating flyers and posters for local youth groups and his secondary schools’ performing arts productions. He then started taking an interest in website design. Before he left his secondary school, he designed the front covers for the Ks3 and KS4 hard cover log books, and had a hand in designing the logo for another local secondary school when they rebranded.
Taking this interest futher, Tim took on an apprenticeship (in IT support!) which allowed him to work with design agency Xigen Design, where he learnt invaluable skills in design, including how to use Adobe Fireworks, Photoshop, and Flash. The majority of his work included creating flash and static advertisements for large scale clients, whilst updating their websites with localised content – such as Dutch, or German.
After a stint in IT support, Tim worked with a small design agency in St Ives, becoming the sole designer and developer before eventually starting up TimPowersDesign.
In his free time, Tim volunteers with various amatuer dramatic societies, and a children’s theatre and music school Peppercorns where he is head technician. Tim follows Liverpool FC, and motorsport – in particular the FIA WEC sportscar championship, and has been to the flagship race, Le Mans 24 Hours, 3 times to date. Tim also loves classic cars, in particular the classic Mini, and has owned 3 – one of which is a project sitting on the driveway.
